We believe that the education and inspiration of young people is an essential part of improving the future of wild animals and the natural environment. Therefore, CIWY maintains an education program focused on the protection and conservation of Bolivia’s biodiversity. We organise workshops, fairs and demonstrations in communities and schools to educate children about the importance of protecting our native species.

At these events, we engage school children in discussions about the importance of each species in the conservation of wildlife, using videos, puppets, games and other teaching resources. We share stories and photos of our rescued animals to show the harm they endure when they are removed from their natural habitat, and the work we do to provide them with a better life.

Through our “Artist in Residence” program and also by their own accord, some of our volunteers have assembled artistic exhibitions, informative videos, songs inspired by the lives of our animals, and children’s books with the purpose of educating the public. Some of these books are distributed in schools throughout Bolivia to raise awareness in future generations.

We participated in the Jane Goodall Institute’s Roots & Shoots Program, a global educational program designed for young people that focuses on environmental and humanitarian issues. The institute encourages future leaders to work towards protecting the environment. Our involvement in this program strengthened the impact we have on Bolivia’s youth.

We also take action to educate the general public and specific collectives due to their important role in conservation (such as veterinary students, interdepartmental border control personnel, military regiments close to our sanctuaries and road builders across the country). We mount art exhibitions, informative talks and workshops.

CIWY offers volunteer positions focused on the development and implementation of educational projects. If you want to contribute, send us an email at info@intiwarayassi.org!
