Vladi is the first person to enter the refuge in the morning, and usually, the last to leave at night. He is respected by all animals, monkeys and pumas alike. When ever there is trouble, a monkey stealing glasses off a volunteer's nose, the capuchin alpha male blocking the path not letting tourists pass, or simply a puma refusing to return from its daily walk, Vladi is always there. He has no fear of any animal no matter how big it is or how aggressive it might be. This approach enables him to work with all new animals that come to the refuge. Vladi is responsible for the daily operation of the refuge as well as keeping a watchful eye on the monkeys while the tourists pass by and instructing new volunteers in their chores.
